Mary L. Kester, 96, of Waverly, went to be with the Lord Tuesday June 6, 2017 at the Sayre Health Care Center with her family by her side.  Mary was born September 20, 1920. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 49 years, Harry W. Kester, in 1989. Mary loved the Lord and spent a lot of time praying for others.  She loved to knit and crochet.  She made hats and mittens as well as dishcloths to give to others.  Mary is survived by her children, Dale (Phyllis) Kester, of Nichols, NY, Nancy (John) Pruyne, of Milan, PA, grandchildren, Leah (Jason) Marchese, of Arizona, Travis (Karen) Pruyne, of Alabama, and Jennifer (Jeffery) Hess, of Virginia, great grandchildren, David and Samantha Marchese of Arizona, Kyra and Camden Dunford, of Canada, DJ Smith, Matthew and Crystal Smith and Emily Smith, all of Alabama, Brittany and Perry Strange, of Oklahoma, Great-Great Grandchildren, November and Nathan Smith, of Alabama. Also surviving Mary are her sister, Shirley (Angelo) Godici, Fulton, NY, her brother Robert (Diana) Reed, of Washington State, and sister in law Alberta Reed. She was also predeceased by her parents, Alan Sr. and Inez (Goble) Reed, and her granddaughter, Wanda Jean Kester, brothers Alan Reed Jr., John Reed. Family and friends are invited to call Saturday June 10th from 12:00 to 1:00 PM at the Luckner Funeral Home 449 Park Avenue, Waverly, NY. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM at the funeral home with Pastor Daniel Graham of Springfield Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
