Martin R. Bonning

 
Martin R. Bonning, age 60, of Waverly, NY passed away unexpectedly on Friday October 13, 2017 doing what he loved best, fishing! Marty was born on July 22, 1957 and lived on Lincoln Street his whole life. Marty is survived by the following siblings and their spouses: Rita (James) Murphy, Stephen (Julie), Michael (Jane), Kevin, Lisa (Thomas) Gibbons and Patrick (Bernadette). He was predeceased by his parents Arthur L. and Betty C. Bonning. He is also survived by Aunts, cousins, many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Marty worked in the community for several years including Philadelphia Sales and Horn’s True Value for the past 20 years. Everyone that came into Horn’s always looked for Marty’s guidance and help. He was always willing and able and made sure that his customer’s were well taken care of. We know that Horn’s employees and customers will miss him dearly. Marty was known for making beef jerky for many people, sharing his fishing knowledge and expertise.
Marty had planned on retiring early and opening up his own fishing bait shop. He was already selling them online. He loved that he had fishing buddies that were willing to go wherever to catch the "big one". Marty had many fishing buddies that hauled his boat wherever they were biting! Marty loved to see his fishing buddies faces when they hauled in a fish no matter the size.
Marty was a kind and gentle person who would do anything for anyone. He loved his family, friends, neighbors and all that he encountered. He will be truly missed by all. Family and friends are invited to call Wednesday October 18th, 2017 from 1:00 to 4:00 pm at the Luckner Funeral Home 449 Park Avenue Waverly, NY.
