Stanley Wasielewski, 98, of Waverly, N.Y., went home to be with his Lord and loving wife on Monday, November 19, 2012.
Stanley was born on August 25, 1914, in Jersey City, N.J., the son of the late John and Antonia Wasielewski.
He was predeceased by his loving wife Florence (Ayers) Wasielewski, two sisters, daughter in law Patricia Wasielewski and great grandchild Brian T. Ratcliffe II.
Stanley is survived by his sons: Stanley (Julia) Wasielewski of Huntsville, Ala., Frederick (Marie) Wasielewski of Waverly, N.Y., Charles (Margaret) Wasielewski Sr. of Barton, N.Y., Frank (Lois) Wasielewski of Asheville, N.C.; daughter Judith (William) Ratcliffe of Pearl, MS. 31 grandchildren; 49 great-grandchildren, numerous great-great grandchildren and his brother, Frank Wasielewski of Paramus, N.J.
Stanley was a resident of the Valley for 69 years and was retired from GE Foundry in Elmira. He pastored the Talmadge Hill Gospel Chapel from 1960 until 1976; and even after retirement continued to teach and share the love of God, until he went home to be with his Lord.
Stanley was a gentle and generous man who committed his life to serving others and loved the Lord his God with all his heart, soul, mind, and strength. His Lord said unto him, well home, good faithful servant.... enter thou into the joy of the Lord - Matthew 25:33.
Friends and family are invited to call at the Talmadge Hill Gospel Chapel on Saturday, November 24, from noon until 2 p.m. Stanley's funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. with his son Pastor Charles Wasielewski, Sr., and grandson Frank Wasielewski, Jr., officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Stanley's name to the Talmadge Hill Gospel Chapel, 1645 County Rte. 60, Lowman, N.Y., 14861.
