Robert F. Clark, Former Waverly Business Man, Dies at Age 77
Robert F. (Bobby) Clark of Oswego, NY, formerly of Chemung, NY, passed away peacefully at home on August 11, 2014 with his wife of 53 years at his side.
Bobby was born August 5, 1937, in Elmira NY. After graduating from Waverly High School in 1955, Bobby entered the US NAVY in 1956, and married Susan Kay Lewis on October 1, 1960.
Always true to his home town he served as a Boy Scout leader, Chemung 4-H leader, a member of the Chemung Masonic Lodge, and as President of the Waverly Lions Club. In addition he found great pleasure golfing with friends, family and colleagues at Shepard Hills Country Club in Waverly.
Bob served his community for over 40 years at Bob Clark's Hardware Store in Waverly, NY. Yet his greatest legacy will be the gift he gave to his family. After retiring, he devoted his life to his grandchildren by moving to Utica to be with Ryan and Elizabeth for 7 years, and then to Oswego to be with Zoe, Fisher, and Tristan for the past 2 years.
He is survived by his wife, Kay of Oswego, two daughters, Marysue (Scott) Andrews of Utica, and Allison (Pete) Fuller of Elmira Heights, one son, Rob (Beth) Clark of Oswego. In addition "Bumpa" is survived by 5 beloved grandchildren: Ryan and Elizabeth Andrews; Zoe, Fisher and Tristan Clark, and 3 step grandchildren, Atasha Fuller, and Aiden and Jorden Montgomery. Also 3 loving sisters, Sylvia (Robbie) Robinson, Marjorie (Tom) Madigan, and Dianna (Blaine) Woodruff; along with several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his mother and father, Robert S. and Ida Clark, and his brother, Francis.
He will be most remembered for his kindness.
Calling hours will be held on Saturday, August 16, at the Luckner Funeral Home 449 Park Avenue, Waverly, NY from 11AM until 2PM, with a memorial service immediately following.
