Robert D. Bortle, 66 of Waverly passed away unexpectedly on July 22, 2018. Born on March 14, 1952 in Sayre, PA. He was the son of Gordon and Alice Bortle. Robert graduated from Athens High School in 1970. He retired from GE Railcar after forty years of service. He was preceded by his parents, father in law William J. Hogan, and grandson Brennen Bortle.  He is survived by his wife of 41 years Ann, his sons Zach (Kristy) Bortle of North Carolina, Ryan (Stacy) Bortle of Mississippi, grandchildren Ben, Anna, and Madden. He is also survived by his siblings: Bernita Luckman, Donna (Ken) Robinson, Al (Debbie) Bortle, Ron (Thuy) Bortle,Debbie (Mike) Toole, Alisa (Dan) Paolitti, Daniel Bortle and Thomas Bortle as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
