Norma Isabel Barker Joyce passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, January 29th, 2015 at the age of 89. Norma was born to Charles William Barker and Isabel Willard Barker on  July 18 1925 in Oswego, New York. Norma graduated from Oswego High School and began work as a bank clerk. Several years later, she married her high school sweetheart, Francis Richard Joyce, when he returned from WWII. Francis and Norma raised their five children in Waverly, N.Y. and Candor, N.Y.  Upon retirement they built a new home on "The Farm" in Chemung, N.Y. Norma was an avid reader, loved Scrabble, a great cook, and beloved mother who was devoted to her extended family. She was a longtime member of St. James Church of Waverly, NY. She is predeceased by her beloved husband of 62 years, Francis Richard Joyce, and  brothers' Frederick,   Cecil, and Harold. Norma is survived by her sister Mildred Shear of Fulton, NY.,  children  Kimberly,  Patrick (Barbara), Mark (Leigh), Michael "Sean" (Kathleen),  Maureen, grandchildren  Doria and Anni  (Kim), Darcy and Thomas (Sean), Devin, Ainsley, Liam, and Duran (Mark) and her great grandchild Dominica (Doria). Memorial service and interment to be held in the spring (May) at the convenience of the family.  In lieu of flowers, please send donations to St. James Cemetery Fund  or  St. Patrick's School in Owego, NY.
