Born April 18, 1963 in Dallas, Texas, the son of Audrey Maxine Simpson McFarlin and the late Mahlon McFarlin, Craig has lived here in the Valley for the past nine years. He retired from Texas Utilities of Dallas, TX, where he worked as Vital Records Manager. Craig was a quiet man who primarily lived a simple life and devoted his time to his husband, John.
He was an admirer of the artist Thomas Kinkade and expressed his own artistic talent through oil painting, ceramics, and other crafts.
Craig collected lighthouses and was an avid reader who enjoyed many genres of writing; most recently that of Nicholas Sparks and Fannie Flagg.
He particularly loved dogs and lavished much attention on his Chihuahua, Lucy.
Craig is survived by his husband, John Joseph Koons of Lockwood; his mother Audrey Maxine Simpson McFarlin, currently living in Waverly; sisters Sherrie Easley and Vicky Nelson, both of Texas, as well as several nieces and cousins. He is also survived by many special friends including Cathy and Frank Russo of Sayre, PA; Terri Buono of Elmira Heights, NY; Steve Selso of Fairfield CT; Allen Jones of Dallas, TX; Susan & Bill Tanner of Pine City, NY; and the Reverend Kaye Hunter, of Carrollton, TX.
