Leona C Lunn, 76, of Waverly, went home to be with the lord on Sunday, March 20, 2011 at Elderwood Nursing Home, Waverly. Leona was born on March 26, 1934 in Sayre PA. A daughter of the late Orin an Lena (Shaff) Talada. For many years was employed at the A&P Plant in Horseheads, NY. until they closed. Then at Sopranos Italian Market in Waverly. Leona was well known in the valley and was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose, Gold Card Member of Tioga County. She also loved to play BINGO and the horses until her health failed. she also did crafts, made blankets, hats, mittens, and sweaters. But most of all she loved her children and grandchildren. Leona is survived by her six daughters, Maggie & Andy Kraft of Sayre, Pa; Robin & Roy VanAtta, of Elmira, NY; Tammy & Tom Murray of Waverly, NY; Virginia Olsen of Florida; Tina Westbrook & Joe Sandroni, of Waverly, NY; Michelle Morgan of Athens, Pa; three sons Dennis Brown of Elmira, NY; Robert Lunn, of Florida; and Earl Lunn, of Athens, Pa; she had 19 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren; she loved the boys they could do no wrong in grandmas' eyes~Andrew, Craig, Stuart, Paul, Coty, Dillon, Cameron, Nate, John, Devin, and Dalton. She always wanted more for her girls (Dream Big) Angela, Brandi, Jessica, Vanessa, MaKayla, MacKenzie, and Devenie. She is also survived by her sisters Flo Talada, of Waverly, NY; Jean (John) Maxwell of Rome, Pa; Barb (Richard) Wright of Waverly, NY; Glenna (Dick) LaFritz, of Waverly, NY; Brothers Bill (Diana) VanDeBogart of North Carolina; Joe Talada, of Rome, PA; Hilmont Talada, of Waverly, NY; and Clair (Marion) Talada, of Waverly, NY; several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive her. Leona was pre deceased by her father Orin in 1948; mother Lena in 2007; her first husband Glenn in 1966; her second husband of 44 years who just passed on February 13, 2011 Ernest, Baby Leona in July, 1965; Grandson Matthew in 2008; Funeral services for Leona will be held on Saturday March 26 ^th at Luckner Funeral Home, 449 Park Ave Waverly, NY; A period of visitation and a time of sharing memories will be held from 11:00 am until 12:00 noon the time of the service. Interment will be at a later time due to weather. Donations may be directed to the National Alzheimer's Association.
