Leo E. Minier, 79 passed away on December 20, 2021 after a brief illness. Born October 12, 1942 to the Late Ivan and Eleanor (Horeseknecht) Minier. Leo graduated from Athens High School as a proud  Athens Bulldog in 1961. He retired from Kennedy Valve in Elmira after 40 years.  He loved to golf and also keeping his yard looking great. He is survived by his wife of 59 years Shirley (Sherman) Minier his sons: Randy (Michelle) Minier, Waverly and Michael (Toni) Minier also of Waverly, two grandchildren  Michael B. (Gabrielle) Minier, NC, and Melanie (Joe Jamison) Minier of Waverly  four great grandchildren, Hailey, Alayna, Rosali, and Juliette. Also his sisters Yvonne (Allyn) Halstead of Sayre, and Linda Marie Bennett, also of Sayre, and sisters-in-law Josephine Seymour of Waverly and Sharon (Brad) Appleton of Elmira. He was predeceased by brother and sister- in- law George (Bernetta) Minier, brother- in- law Gary Sherman, father-in-law and mother-in-law Lewis and Pearl Marie Sherman. As per his wishes there will be no services and burial will be private. Family is being assisted very kindly by Luckner Funeral Home.
