Joyce Dewey Feathers, born in 1931 to Charles and Grace Dewey, passed away on Monday, November 17th at 4:35 p.m., peacefully surrounded by her family. She was predeceased by her husband Arthur Krause; her son Cameron Krause; her granddaughter Tarah Krause Gillie; her sister Jeanne Post; and her brothers Tim and Glenn Dewey.

She is survived by her sister Jackie Guiles of Lowman, New York; her children Arthur and spouse Holly Krause of Lockwood, NY; son Darrin and spouse Joe Krause of Odessa, NY; daughter Katrina and spouse Micheal Wood of Chemung, NY; son Bart and spouse Denise Krause of Lockwood, NY; daughter Robin Crandall of Lowman, NY; and daughter-in-law Holly Krause of Waverly, NY. She also leaves behind a total of 48 grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren (12 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and 8 great-great-grandchildren).

As a child, Joyce survived the Depression. She watched the world change as World War II began and lived to see many great changes throughout her lifetime. Now she is free from pain, wrapped in the same warmth she always gave to everyone around her. Joyce was light on her feet—tap shoes on—dancing her way to a place where nothing hurts anymore.

Even though our hearts ache, we come together now held by memories, by love, and by the feeling that she is still with us in all the ways that matter. We will remember her as the strong, loving woman she truly was—her spirit, her laughter, and her stubborn courage. Not the fog of dementia that tried to dim her light, but never could.
