Joanne D. Oliver, 93, of Yeadon, PA, was called home to be with the Lord on August 5, 2026. Joanne was born to Sylvester and Mary Ferro in Sayre, Pennsylvania. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband James Leonard Oliver. She is survived by her daughter Janine Oliver and her four sons, Timothy, Thomas, Mark and Eric Gable

Joanne loved long walks and watching quiz shows, especially Jeopardy and sometimes wheel of fortune. She most loved spending time with her family, beautifully wrapped presents, and an occasional small glass of red wine with dinner. Joanne loved cats and reading, as well as watching the news to “know what’s going on in the world.” She was a wonderful cook, and her homemade Italian sauce will never be forgotten by anyone who’s ever eaten it. Joanne was a woman who knew what she liked, was never afraid to say what she did not like, was exceptionally strong, and who loved and laughed a great deal. She will be missed, forever, by her family and friends.

Services for Joanne will be held at The Luckner Funeral Home, 449 Park Ave. Waverly, NY, Monday, August 10, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. Friends may come to visit from 9-10 prior to the service. Burial will be made in St. James Cemetery following the service. Memorial contributions can be made to children of the poor in her honor.
