IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Jane
Simpson
November 18, 1966 – March 13, 2025
Jane Mandeville Simpson, 58, of Waverly, New York, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 13, 2025.
Jane was a devoted mother, loving daughter, and cherished friend whose kindness and generosity touched everyone who knew her. She is survived by her devoted partner, Gary Hughes, with whom she shared a loving family. She was a proud mother to Christopher (Polina) Simpson and Kyle Simpson, from her marriage to her former husband, Craig Simpson, as well as Kaden (Lynden Shipman) Hughes and Sebastian Hughes, with Gary. Her greatest joy in life was her children and being a proud and adoring grandmother to Chloe, Eleanora, Lydia, and Milena.
She leaves behind her beloved mother, Kay Hughes; her brother, John (Lori) Mandeville, and niece, Kaitlin Mandeville; brother-in-law, Timothy Hughes; sisters-in-law, Christy Hughes, Christine (Joe) Aug, and Kim (Marty) Hughes; along with many cherished aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Jane was predeceased by her father, Walter Mandeville; stepfather, Robert Hughes; her beloved daughter, Olivia; and nephew, Johnathon Mandeville.
A proud graduate of Waverly High School, Class of 1984, Jane pursued her passion for hairstyling at Hair Care Careers. She later co-founded a salon with her sister-in-law and spent her career working in various salons, making lasting connections with her clients and colleagues.
Jane had an incredible love for animals, a trait that defined much of her life. She never hesitated to bring home a new furry—or sometimes unexpected—companion, from dogs and cats to potbellied pigs and even squirrels. Her compassion for animals was only matched by the love she had for her family and friends.
She will be laid to rest at Glenwood Cemetery at a later date. Jane's spirit will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
