Obituary

James Paul Glann Of Waverly James Paul Glann, 92, of Waverly, passed away Sunday May 29, 2016 at the Elderwood Health Care Facility in Waverly. Born June 25, 1923 in Apalachin, NY, the son of the Late Maude (Griffin) and George H. Glann, and loving husband of the Late, Kathleen Ayers Glann. James was the last surviving child of 16. James was a US Army Veteran, a US Navy Veteran, and a Veteran of the Canadian Army, he served during both the Korean War and World War II, serving very proudly and being wounded twice. He was very active in the community serving with many area Fire Companies in the Valley. He also had lifetime memberships, with the V.F.W., both here and in Lake Placid, FL., Local and State American Legions, and the New York State Fireman's' Association. He was a self- employed Plaster Contractor, in the valley as well, as in Florida, very well known for his plaster work. James married his beloved wife Kathleen Ann Ayers in 1958. Surviving James are his nephew Marvin Thomas (Sharon) McNeil, of Afton, nieces, Peggy (Chester) Pierce and Jane Cunningham, a special friend Ray Clearwater and numerous other nieces nephews, and cousins. A Memorial Service at graveside to celebrate James' life will be held Monday June 6th, 2016 at 10:00 am at Tioga Point Cemetery Athens, PA.  Military Honors will be given.
