RE: Obituary Jack Tryon
Jack Tryon, 86 of Lockwood, passed away Sunday January 30, 2011 at the Elderwood Nursing Facility in Waverly NY.
Born July 30, 1924 in Athens PA. the son of the Late Mabel Jane (Clark) and Clifford Leon Tryon.
Jack was a lifelong resident of the Valley. Jack was a United States Army Veteran serving during World War II as a Tech 4 in the China India Burma Theater. Jack was also well known for working as a barber in the valley. He retired from the New York State Highway Department. He was a member of V.F.W. Post # 1536. Jack loved playing his mandolin guitar in many area Bluegrass and Country Music Bands.
Surviving Jack are his son Ronald Tryon of, Scranton, PA. his step daughters Patricia (Roland) Ford, of Van Etten, NY. Margaret (Peter)Albee, of Cayuta, NY. his sister Evaline (Lawrence) Dusek, of Waverly NY. his brother Guy S. (Barbara) Kinney Jr., of Ithaca NY. Also six grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren, also numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral Services will be held Friday February 4th, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at the Luckner Funeral Home 449 Park Avenue Waverly NY. Reverend Dr. Guy S. Kinney, Jr. will officiate . interment will be in Glenwood Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
