Inez Merrill Inez Merrill, 75, passed away December 23, 2014 at the Elderwood Healthcare Facility in Waverly after a long battle with Parkinson's Disease.  Born April 26, 1939 in Waverly, NY the daughter of the Late Lydia (Furman) and Charles F. Brown, and loving wife of the Late James H. Merrill Sr. Her daughter, Cindy Varga, two infant brothers, and her sisters Beatrice, Pauline and Veronica also predeceased her. Inez was a loving mother, Grandmother, and great grandmother. She was a member of the second graduating class of Tioga Center High School in 1958. Inez worked for the Endicott-Johnson Company for 23 years. She was very active in her church Talmadge Hill Gospel Chapel, teaching Sunday School and also the superintendent of the Sunday School Program, playing piano, signing in the choir, she was told she had the "voice of an Angel". Inez always had to door open for anyone that needed anything. Surviving Inez are her children; Doreen (Jeffrey) Yackel, Elmira, NY, James H. (Linda) Merrill, Jr. Campbell, NY, Kevin D. (Chris) Merrill, Barton, NY, Michael L. (Rita) Merrill, Waverly, NY, Keith E. (Kim) Merrill, Lockwood, NY and Sandra (Earl) Barrett, Waverly, NY. 30 grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren, as well as a very large extended family also survive Inez. Family and friends are invited to call Saturday January 3rd, 2015 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Talmadge Hill Gospel Chapel, a Funeral Service will follow at 1:00 PM.
