Sgt. Eric Benjamin Fraley

Eric Benjamin Fraley, 38, of Las Vegas, Nevada, formerly of Waverly, passed away Sunday October 6th, 2013 unexpectedly. He was born March 21, 1975 in Fort Dix, New Jersey, the son of Alice Mary Hogan and Thomas G. Fraley.
Eric graduated from Waverly High School in 1993 and directly went into the Army. He became a career military man serving with the United States Army as a Sergeant in the states as well as Germany and Kuwait, and most recently with the 505th Signal Corp in Las Vegas. Eric received many honors and medals during his military career among them; Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal(2), Army Good Conduct Medal(4), National Defense Service Medal With Bronze Star, Global War On Terrorism Service Medal, Non Commissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon(3) RCTR BDG-Gold w/two Sapphire ACH Stars, Marksmanship Qualifying Badge-Sharpshooter W/Rifle, Warrior Leader Course.
One of the greatest men we have ever known is sadly and suddenly gone. So many knew his kindness and generosity. He was such a fun loving guy. Eric and his Father enjoyed playing guitar together. He also liked collecting baseball cards, playing video games and playing cards especially Texas Hold Em and was an accomplished tournament player. Eric also enjoyed having barbecues with his neighbors.
Surviving Eric are Mother Alice Mary Hogan, Freeville, NY, and Father and Stepmother Thomas G. (Jackie) Fraley, Las Vegas, NV. his maternal grandmother, Alice E. Hogan, Waverly, NY, his sisters; Jessica (Dale) Fraley Flintjer, Waverly, NY, Katie Anne (Billy) Fraley, Sayre, PA. and his brother, Thomas G. Fraley II , of Waverly, NY. He is also survived by his nieces, and nephews; Gabrielle, Saige, Alexis, Jason, Elisabeth Grace, William, Kelsey and Tyler
Eric is also survived by his Aunts and Uncles; Patrick (Louann) Hogan, Glenda (Bud) Brown, Rebecca Williams and Elizabeth (Bill) LoVecchio and his cousins, Joseph Hogan(Angela), Kristin Hogan(Ryan), Sabrina Hogan, Kevin(Lauren) Brown , Cindy(Kenneth) Frisbie, Brian(Roseann) Cole, Brenda(Scott) Campbell, John(Mary) Cole, and Melissa(Deric) Rosenbaum, Catherine(Nicholas) Rafferty and Elizabeth (Brent)Varnadoe as well as many other extended family members.
Eric was predeceased by his paternal grandparents Glenn and Raymah Fraley , Maternal grandfather Edward C. Hogan, his uncles; Edward C. Hogan, Jr. and Harlan Williams, and his Aunt Ann Hogan.
Family and Friends are invited to call at the Luckner Funeral Home 449 Park Avenue on Sunday October 13, from 2:00 to 5:00 pm and Monday October 14th from 8:30 to 10:30 am. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday October 14, 2013 at 11:00 am at Blessed Trinity Parish Saint James Church in Waverly, NY. Internment will follow at Saint James Cemetery.
