David J. (Short) Coyle, 75, of Chemung, NY, died unexpectedly at home on Sunday, December 21st. He will be greatly missed. David worked many years as a heavy equipment mechanic and a member of the Operators Engineers Union. David enjoyed NASCAR, hunting, and spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. David was predeceased by his parents Percy Coyle and Leora May Coyle, his sister Margaret Myers and brother in law Robert Hoover and sister in law Phyllis Coyle. David is survived by his wife of 55 years Marlene K. (Townsand) at home, son David J. (Sheri) Coyle, Jr., of Chemung, daughters; Lisa K. (Dr. Rob)Saunders, of TN.,  Jill L. (Dan Lake) Coyle, of Lockwood, NY, Julie Coyle, of Port Charlotte, FL., his brother Vern Coyle, of Barton, NY.,  and his sister Barbara Hoover, of Waverly, NY. He is also survived by several grandchildren, and great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and his faithful dog Louie. The family will receive friends on Friday December 26th, 2014 from 4:00 to 6:00 pm at the Luckner Funeral Home 449 Park Avenue Waverly, NY.
