Obituary
Clifton M. Doane,Sr. of Waverly passed away Monday April 25th, 2011 at the Robert Packer Hospital in
Sayre, PA
.
Born October 14th, 1929 in Stevensville, PA. the son of the late Pearl (Hockenberry) and Mason E. Doane, and husband of Janet Elizabeth (Goodman) Doane. Clifton was predeceased by his son Michael in 2004 and his sisters: Hannah, Olgia, Evelyn, and Mary.
Clifton spent over seventy years living here in the Valley. He worked for Henson's Moving and Storage for many years. He also managed a small produce farm while both working as a contractor for the
United States Postal Service
where he worked as a driver till his retirement.
He is survived by his children: sons: Clifton (Linda) Doane II, of Waverly NY., Gary Doane, of Brooklyn, NY, Mark (Linda) Doane, of Barton, NY, Adrian
Doane
, of Sayre, PA and Robin (Marge) Doane, of
Annapolis, Md
. his daughters: Constance (Lawrence) Brennan, of Liverpool, NY, June (Daniel) Luther, of
Endicott, NY
, and Suzann (Joe) Ventola, of Littleton, CO, daughter-in-law Eva Doane, of Sayre,Pa. Also surviving Clifton are 18 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and his sisters Lee Ella (Arthur) Boughton, and Alma Selfe.
At Clifton's request private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. Internment will be in Tioga Point Cemetery.
