Of Waverly
Marian Elizabeth Scott, 99, passed away June23, 2016 at Elderwood where she had been a resident for twelve years.
She was born March 26, 1917, in Wellsboro, PA., daughter of Arthur and Hazel Dewey.  She was married in 1937 to John W. Scott who passed away in 1969. Their son Robert A. Scott passed away in 1995 and her brother, Robert A. Dewey passed away in 2005.
Marian is survived by her daughter Sharon (Michael) Dowd, of Waverly, her sister Marjorie Persing, nine grandchildren; Scott and Connie Bodine, Eric and Jackie Bodine, Camille and David Corneby, Cale Bodine, Mary Sharon Macalady, Peggy and Jim Michalenko, Leslie and Eric Efthimiou, Kathleen and Jeffrey Roos, and Heather and Denis McCann, as well as 25 great grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Marian worked for many years at Izard’s Department Store in Elmira, NY as the Personal Shopper. She later worked as Hostess and Baker at the Linden Wald House in Elmira, to the delight of all the guests.
Friends and Family are invited to call Sunday June 26, from 11:00 am to 1:00pm at the Luckner Funeral Home 449 Park Avenue Waverly NY. A Funeral Service will be held with The Reverend Pastor Ann Canfield at the funeral Home at 1:00 pm. Burial will be in Knowlton Cemetery, Marshlands, PA. Tuesday at 11:30 am.
