George William Frank

George (Bill) was born in Ithaca, NY to George Stedman Frank and Edith Annie Crosse and is survived by his wife, Barbara Titus Frank and their four children; Bill Frank (Lena Gray) Cortland, NY, Mary Lee Buerman (Richard) Longmont, CO, Peggy Mayfield (Rick) Northfield, MN, and Jean Ann Stark (Ray) Arlington, VA.
George was raised in Trumansburg, NY where he met his eventual wife, Barbara Titus, when they were 14 years old and have been together for 81 years.
George joined the Army in WW II and was stationed in Burma. After the Army, he returned home and married Barbara on November 24, 1945. In 1955 they moved their family from Trumansburg to Freeville, NY where George worked at Fingerlakes Chemical Company until taking a similar job at Lakeseal in Ithaca, NY. In Ithaca, he was offered a job at Cayuga Lumber Company which he accepted, becoming a Vice President.
In 1969 George moved his family to Waverly, NY. He purchased a barn and started a chemical processing plant called BIL Chemical Company George sold his chemical business in 1981 to George Howell and his family, which operates today as Chemite Inc.
George and Barbara lived at 19 Garfield St. until moving to Elderwood Assisted Living in 2013.
George’s first love was his wife and family. He enjoyed collecting coins and old bottles, playing pool and poker with his friends, and carpentry, becoming a master cabinet maker.
George passed along to all that knew him, his honesty, integrity, humor, fellowship and love of God. He will be missed by all that knew him.
The family has decided to have a private gathering to honor and remember their father at a later date.
